Certain Pokémon or environmental effects can empower the terrain with elemental energy, affecting creatures in the area. The effect of these types of terrains are provided below:

Terrain Effects
Terrain Effect
Electric

Creatures may double their MOVE modifier on damage rolls for electric-type moves activated inside the terrain. In addition, grounded creatures cannot be asleep.

Grassy

Creatures may double their MOVE modifier on damage rolls for grass-type moves activated inside the terrain. In addition, grounded creatures that end their turn within the terrain heal an amount of hit points equal to their proficiency bonus.

Misty

Grounded creatures in the terrain are resistant to dragon-type damage, or if they were vulnerable to dragon-type damage, they take regular damage instead. In addition, grounded creatures cannot suffer new status conditions.

Psychic

Creatures may double their MOVE modifier on damage rolls for psychic-type moves activated inside the terrain. In addition, grounded creatures in the terrain cannot use bonus actions.

Note: For the sake of terrain effects, grounded creatures include creatures that do not have a flying speed or Levitate, Magnet Rise, or similar ability.

Certain Pokémon moves may induce terrain effects for a distance and duration depending on the move. Besides moves, terrain effects may be present by some environmental means, the cause, extent, and duration of which are determined by the DM.

Electric Terrain 40ft radius 3 rounds
Grassy Terrain 40ft radius 3 rounds
